Starts Next Week 2/11/19

Alrighty Everyone, the fun starts next week so let's get prepared!!

Zen Studio Quilt Along

Dates:  February 11th, 2019 – March 31st, 2019
Duration:  7 weeks
Quilt Size:  Lap – 41” x 57”
Instagram Tag:  #zenstudioqal

So, just as a reminder, here's the schedule for the upcoming weeks

If you haven't purchased the pattern yet, you're in luck!  It's been recently updated and is on sale through the first week of the QAL.  You will need a copy for the QAL. So, stop stalling and get the pattern here.    Aaaand, if you've already purchased the pattern (prior to 2/4/19), don't fret!  You've been sent an email with a link to retrieve a copy of the updated version.  Win - Win!

If you've already started looking ahead and are like "how am I going to organize this"  Don't worry, I got you.  I am going to give you pictures, diagrams, instructions, and a whole lot of fun.

If you've already found that perfect Jelly Roll and you want to share with the group, use #zendstdudioqal and share away! However, if you haven't found that perfect Jelly Roll (and hopefully that hasn't kept you from joining the QAL), I've provided yardage requirements!  So find some unique colors or fabrics and start hoarding, I mean, carefully selecting only the perfect pieces for your collection.

And lastly, but definitely not least, I've got two amazing people that are sponsoring some prizes for the Quilt Along.  There's discounted quilting, bundles, tools, patterns and more! We'll hear more about the prizes later, but first, let's meet our sponsors.

Emily Jackson- Full-time lawyer turned full-time quilt maker, Emily made her first quilts in college in the 1980s, and started “serious” quilting about 20 years ago. Now specializing in modern quilting, Emily’s design style reflects the clear, brilliant  colors and clean lines that she loves. Emily is a regular competitor, and occasional teacher, at quilt shows in and around her Northern California home. You can find her online as @lemonyquilts.

Janine Wallgren- Hi there! This is Janine from Lil' Bean Quilting. I LOVE QUILTS. And COLOR. Can you tell? The brighter the better. (See my fav faded Friday sweatshirt?)

I started quilting over 10 years ago. Our son was born 7 weeks early and spent his first month of life in the NICU. Feeling scared, humbled, and helpless we'd visit him several times each day to feed, hold, and love on him. I checked in one day and was reduced to tears when I saw someone had placed a handmade, brightly colored, neatly folded baby quilt on top of my son's incubator to comfort him. And you know what? It comforted ME too! From then on I was hooked.

So now I make and sell bright, happy, handmade quilts on Etsy® as well as provide professional quilting and finishing services using my computerized long arm quilter. Combining the latest tech and the art of quilting makes me giddy to get to work most days.  And if I can provide a snugly "hug" from a cozy, new quilt to a customer or their loved ones, I've made the world just a little bit better. Never underestimate the healing powers of a cozy quilt.

That's all for this week.  If you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave them below.  I'm super excited to start next week!!
